Global Vision 2020

In 2008 ESGMissions met Kevin White, resident of the Eastern Shore and Executive Director of Global Vision 2020. Kevin introduced us to GV2020’s exciting efforts in helping the world to literally “see through new lenses." Eyesight is something that we take for granted in America - even if we need glasses or contacts it's relatively easy to correct our vision. But without good eyesight, many impoverished people are unable to function and earn a living. As we firm up our plans for Africa in 2010, we are hoping to be able to distribute GV2020's specially designed glasses as a part of our mission.

Global Vision 2020 works to bring corrective eyeglasses to the more than one billion people in the developing world who would benefit from them through a combination of methods - using self-adjustable eyeglasses that allow users to correct their own vision and using established distribution networks available through the world's aid and development organizations by providing glasses and training at little or no cost to them.
